At SOBY, we work with ESG, producer responsibility, and the green transition as a natural part of our responsibility as a manufacturing company. For us, this means both reducing our own resource and energy consumption and developing solutions that support a more sustainable agro-industry. At the same time, it is important for us to document our efforts so that customers, distributors, and partners can trust our role in the value chain.
We work purposefully to turn our green transition ambitions into concrete improvements in everyday operations. In recent years, we have implemented several initiatives in our production, including replacing lighting and heavy machinery with more energy-efficient solutions and transitioning from oil-based heating to heat pumps.
At the same time, we participate in several development and collaboration projects, working alongside other companies and knowledge partners on the sustainable industry of the future. These include initiatives such as Project Green, SMV Grøn, Servitize, as well as our membership in MADE.
As a manufacturing company, our employees, partners, and customers are a key part of our responsibility. We continuously work to create safe and supportive working conditions in our production and to maintain strong collaboration with both suppliers and customers across the value chain.
At the same time, we take part in development and industry networks where companies and knowledge partners collaborate to strengthen the future of the industry. For us, ESG is therefore not only about environmental requirements and documentation, but also about contributing to responsible and long-term industry development.
SOBY is a member of the Danish organization VANA, established by Denmark’s largest business associations. VANA works with producer responsibility and helps companies manage their responsibilities for packaging and waste in compliance with applicable regulations.
New EU requirements on producer responsibility for packaging have been introduced. This means that, as a manufacturer, we must ensure proper handling and documentation of waste and residual materials. At SØBY, we have therefore established our own environmental station, where packaging and residual materials are sorted and handled correctly on-site.
We have entered into a partnership with a single service provider responsible for collection, sorting, and further processing of our waste. This enables us to document how waste is handled throughout the entire process—from leaving our production to being recycled or properly treated.
SOBY is also a member of VANA, an organization founded by Denmark’s largest business associations, which supports us in managing our producer responsibility, including the handling of packaging and waste.
