We look forward to Young Professionals Day at Agritechnica, where young farmers, generational transition, and leadership are the main themes. It’s not only an exciting topic but also a highly relevant one for SOBY. We’ve just celebrated the 10-year anniversary of Mette Frantsen and Morten Frantsen taking over the ownership and management of SOBY, becoming the third generation in the family-owned company.
A generational transition is not just about handing over the keys – it’s about finding your own path as a leader, setting the direction for the company, and taking responsibility for employees, customers, and the future. It’s a process SOBY continues to evolve through. Because how do you approach such a task? What does it mean to grow into a new role – as a leader and as the guardian of a family legacy?
“Our ambitions for SOBY mean moving away from doing things the way we’ve always done them – and we’re well on our way. But if I could give myself one piece of advice from 10 years ago, it would be to take things a bit slower – there’s always another day tomorrow! We’ve learned not to start 10 changes at once – and that we don’t have to handle everything ourselves,” says Mette Frantsen.
