New ladders with and without safety cages – technical details

This season, we have updated our ladders with and without safety cages, so that they now comply with the DS/EN ISO 14122-4:2016 standard. The result is a much simpler construction that is less wind sensitive. We would like to use this occasion to highlight the rules regarding resting platforms:

  • According to the above-mentioned standard, it is legal to mount ladders with safety cages in a total height of 10 m. without resting platforms
  • If the total height of the ladder is above 10 m., a resting platform must be mounted for every 6 meters
  • It can be difficult to make room for two parallel ladders with a resting platform between them on a bucket elevator. Hence, we have constructed a resting platform with a trap door instead. This is a simple and cost-effective solution

The new ladders with safety cages cannot be combined with existing ladders, but if needed, we still have a small stock of the previous model.

Update of the gear on SE25 and SE40 elevators – technical details

We have updated the gear on our SE25 and SE40 elevators with gear engine sizes of 3-7,5 kW. Instead of a parallel shaft gear unit, they now have a helical-bevel gear unit. The update brings the centre of gravity closer to the elevator which increases its stability. We use a Varvel helical-bevel gear unit for the elevators, and that has the following benefits:

  • The gear motor is mounted in parallel with the elevator, so it takes up less space
  • The helical-bevel gear unit is built into an aluminium house, so it weighs less
  • The engine’s centre of gravity is brought closer to the elevator, so the load on bearings and shaft is reduced
  • The same gear and exchange for all motor sizes
  • Long service life on the gear
  • When converting from a Bockwolt gear to a Varvel helical-bevel gear unit, the electrical motor can be reused in sizes ranging from 3 – 5,5 kW

R60 aspiration cleaners: greater speed, better flow

To optimise the grain flow at the outlet of our R60 cleaners, the outlet has been changed from Ø200 to Ø250. This increases the speed and thus the basis for reaching 60t./hour.

Updated TLR fans

In the coming season, we will update all our TLR aeration fans up to and including 7,5 kW. The construction will be simplified so a flange motor is mounted on the side plate of the fan instead of a foot motor on a motor console. The benefit is a simpler design, but several benefits remain the same:

  • TLR fans will continue to have the same output and blowing characteristics
  • The fans will continue to be delivered with wheels and handles as standard
  • Fan wheel and outlet connections are compatible with previously delivered models.
